3 Ways to Improve Your Time Management
Imagine a typical day for you...
Get either into the office or sit down at your home office and start reading emails.. then maybe check your socials and the news. Turning on some music that might help you concentrate.
Next thing you know it's noon and time for lunch. After you take a break you come back to your work space, sit down and answer some more emails and continue your day.
5pm hits and you feel like you still have a ton to do?? Is this a regular day? It is for a vast majority of business owners and operators. How is your time management? Need some help?
Here's a couple ways you can improve your work days and get more done.
1. Prep and Plan
Sure you may think you prep and plan your days but do you one stick to it and two actually have a plan for your day. Yes.. we know your schedule needs a certain amount of flexibility. Planning and prepping your most important tasks for the day will help you put into perspective what needs to be done. Prioritizing your top three action items for the day will help your mindset and anxiety levels.
2. Delegation
WE NEED TO DO EVERYTHING OURSELVES! No.. actually no we don't. Delegation is one of the hardest things a business owner can do. Trusting an employee or a contractor to be able to properly perform a job or task to your standard when your name is on the line is tough. But it's a necessity. You will burn out.. 100% if you take everything on yourself. Start with little things, try handing over small tasks that can be fixed easily and work on building your trust in handing things over.
3. Learn to say NO
Again... another struggle business owners and operators face. Especially in the early days. When you are saying yes to everything it is eating up your valuable time. Yes I said it.. YOUR VALUABLE TIME! This is time you are taking away from your family, your favorite activities or even your favorite bottle of wine. Make sure it's worth it. You will never get that time back- make it count!
